This Road

Change and growth are the principal themes of this year,
and life is now different in so many ways.
With each action I take, I choose faith over fear;
my trust in myself shines a light through the haze.

When the crystal-sharp clarity cuts through the fog,
allowing decisions I’ve made on the spot
to bring knowingness in, then a new dialogue
links feeling with thought — a goal I’ve always sought.

Since this choice to pursue what I feel deep inside
allowed me to change and let go of my fear,
eccentricities I have that others would chide
have morphed into strengths, and they no longer sneer.

Though obscured for as far as my eyes can discern,
I’m braving this road for the lessons I’ll learn.
