Inside of Me

When I’m inwardly focused, still and serene,

the sages inside me often convene.
It’s best that my thinking ceases to be
to clear the way for what I might see.

Once creative energy breaks through a block,
I hear puzzle pieces click as they lock.
In taking their places, forms can converge;
a hazy picture starts to emerge….

I can see a snapshot inside of my head
assuming the form of the path I tread —
appearing to be a yellow-brick road.
And I must break its singular code!

I surmise that this is a self-chosen race
since both of my feet are firmly in place
on each of the bricks as I move ahead,
although unsure to where I’ll be led.

Then I purposely raise my gaze to assess
the weather prevailing through which I press.
I’m blinded by fog, though I’m open-eyed,
which tells me:  Spirit MUST be my guide!

The transmission is clear:  I simply must trust;
to all of life’s changes, I will adjust.
And during an uphill, treacherous climb,
I’ll only see one step at a time.

While on some of life’s quests, it’s best I don’t know
what lies ’round the bend, so I must let go.
With blindfold in place and trusting in Source,
I’m led through the fire as one would…a horse.

When I trust that Soul, for my needs, will provide,
my vision of life then remains clear-eyed.
I now realize what, once, I called fate
is what my Soul and self co-create!
