Let Go!

It’s strange how long-forgotten dreams

suddenly rise up after what seems
an eternity
of letting them go
since we were once told they weren’t meant to be —
that they could never be so.

Back then, we just didn’t know.

And why do we still find a way
(knowing before that they didn’t stay)
to anticipate
their coming to be
by allowing ourselves to recreate
those dreams we had once set free?

We trust though we cannot see.

How do we make sure that the trail
under our feet, we’re able to scale
without fear or dread
of getting there late,
secure in the fact that we will be led
to keep our intended date?

By rendezvousing with fate.

We humans long for Paradise,
promised to us if we’ll pay the price
in our mortal form
with tears being shed —
where suffering is the accepted norm,
and joy is for when we’re dead.

Let go of lies you’ve been fed,
and find Paradise instead!
