To Know Time

“It’s much better to imagine time than to know it.” ~ Philip Schultz

The illusion of time
is the heart of this rhyme.
To imagine its flow
is much better than to know
its movement and feel
the harsh turning of its wheel.

When it passes you by
in the blink of an eye,
you are blinded by fate,
while astonished at the rate
of time as it flies
and the weight of its goodbyes.

When it moves at a crawl,
what is coming will call;
then the thoughts in your mind
form the life you’ll leave behind.
What’s now on your plate,
you may celebrate too late.

If imagining time
while enjoying the climb,
then the present is all
that you need to have a ball!
To know time’s unwise;
it’s a path I don’t advise.
