Review and Begin Anew

Another year has come to a close,

and a new year’s about to begin.
For some, it’s a day when anything goes,
and though, that idea, I don’t oppose,
I prefer to retrace where I’ve been.

For me, it’s best to review
before I embark anew.

As I recall the highs and the lows,

they are bound to elicit a grin.
No matter the outcome, all that I chose
has brought me to here, and I must suppose
there’s a reason it feels like ‘a win.’

I know I’m guided by Source,
so why should I doubt my course?

At fifty-five, experience shows

that to look back on life with chagrin
is fear-based behavior, practiced by those
who judge that most yeses should well be noes,
and then brand the unknown as a sin.

But Source expresses Her voice
through man when he makes a choice.

In each of every seed that She sows,

there’s a gift that is hidden within.
She uses desires and thoughts to enclose
a face of Herself that She’ll then expose
and express through corporeal skin.

So, come December, I make a review

of all emotions, both rosy and blue;
I use the challenges I have come through
as inspiration to venture anew!
