A child remembers so much more
in his early years on Earth
than adults can hope to recollect
about the truth of who we are.
And while that door is still ajar,
both the past and present intersect.
Renewed and fresh, he knows the score
from the vantage point of birth.
But as fear and worry disconnect
our human selves from who we are,
expansive feelings often spar
with the mandates of our intellect.
Before a child has learned to crawl,
he remains at one with Source.
So, he knows his feelings pave the way
to future times of gloom or glee.
Emotions are the driving key,
that will guide his choices every day!
His presence helps us reinstall
tacit laws that rule this course.
And his love emits a vibrant ray,
reminding us that we are free
to form the world we want to see.
Our impassioned thoughts become the clay!
A child’s affection can restore
recollections of our worth.
Then the Spirit’s wisdom flows unchecked
to mortal minds upon this star.
Our limitations, he’ll unbar,
as he teaches us to reconnect.
And through this cherished child, recall
that there’s no time for remorse.
Let regrets and fears, your love allay;
your thoughts and feelings, oversee.
