As humans, we’re aiming to win
a battle of wits with our will.
But an impulse to which we give in,
with the light of our Soul, we could still.
Addiction may deaden the pain
of fears we’re unwilling to face,
overwhelmed by the thoughts in our brain
that the Ego can never outpace.
But even in the heart of darkness, there is light;
although it may be just a spark, it’s burning bright!
And all the forces of The Light
will back that tiny spark with might.
Our worries will subside
once light becomes our guide.
We’ll clearly see the gap to stride
the moment fear no longer robs our eyes of sight.
For always in the heart of darkness, there is light!
Emotions can feel like a weight
that keeps us from rising above
those relationships sponsored by Fate,
while obstructing those anchored by love.
At times, they are one and the same,
though fear masks the love with unrest.
But when letting our light rule the game,
by sheer faith, we pass each karmic test.
And even in the heart of darkness, there is light;
