Although this time of year is filled with joy
embodied in each little girl and boy,
bittersweet emotions
often fill the air;
for some, it is much more than they can bear.
I see it in the faces on the street:
Their shopping doesn’t make them feel…complete.
Stewing in frustration,
running to and fro
is not what gives the holidays their glow.
Set aside your worry and your doubt….
Love is what this season is about!
Remember to take time in solitude,
reflecting on your life with gratitude
for all that you’ve been given,
so you’re not overdriven
by the hustle and the bustle
and the things that you’ve convinced yourself
you simply HAVE to do.
For love to fill your heart, it’s up to you!
Cast off the heavy weight
that expectations can create.
Surrendering will fill your world with peace;
enjoyment of the season will increase.
The stillness found within
will wipe away chagrin
and cause your inner sage to shout,
“Set aside your worry and your doubt….
Love is what this season is about!”
