Wholeness

I know I need to trust,
to have faith in who I am,
to have confidence that I’ll become
my total self and not succumb
to the lie of the ego’s sham.
I’m certain that I must!

I see that I could be
a much kinder, wiser soul.
And because the shadows I possess
are ones I’m willing to address,
with those energies in control,
then I’d be fully me.

The balance that I seek
is the goal I must embrace.
At this time of ever-growing light,
the endpoint is within my sight,
so with even a touch of grace,
my outlook’s far from bleak.

The thoughts that bring dismay,
I will now refuse to hear.
Those outmoded voices, I’ll convert
to lucid ones, which will assert
that I’m finally in the year
when wholeness comes to stay.
