The Cooing of a Dove

The sweetest sound that fills the air in spring

descends from one whose nest is up above.
For hope is felt each time I hear her sing;
there’s comfort in the cooing of a dove.

Her song of trills and murmurs and laments
relieves the ache and longing in my heart,
assuring me each circumstance presents
a crucial piece of life’s mosaic art.

Uncertainty can sometimes be the key
unlocking doors that Spirit has endorsed.
The knowingness that lives inside of me,
through nature’s signs, is often reinforced.

There’s promise of serenity and love
whene’er I hear the cooing of a dove.
