Shadows Dark

As light encounters form,

it casts a shadow dark.
The contrast will be stark
between the loving glow so warm
and the sun in camouflage.
To think it’s a mirage
to which you needn’t pay much heed,
integration, will impede.

A shadow mirrors light
as moon reflects the sun.
But if the shade, you shun,
unconsciousness can lend it might
so disturbances result.
The darkness you occult
will rear its head out of the blue
and conclude by stinging you.

Don’t deny your shadows dark
in an attempt to cloak your pain.
The cheerfulness you feign,
over time, will take its toll
and compromise your soul.

Disguising black with white

may seem the safest choice,
yet Higher Spirit’s voice
will state with infinite delight
that diversity’s required.
The shame in which we’re mired
by merely living here on Earth
can inhibit our self-worth.

Accepting what’s within —
the shadow and the light,
the sunshine and the night —
conjoins the partners yang and yin
to achieve a healthy whole.
Each color’s special role
is emphasized while juxtaposed;
what was veiled is then exposed.

By embracing shadows dark,
the fears of ego hold no sway.
As Spirit points the way,
life dilemmas are resolved;
illusions are dissolved.

The facets of the self combine

once soul and Spirit realign;
the integrated YOU, at last, can shine!
