Strike a Balance

The variance of work and play

is one that’s ever-present,
especially if the everyday
is viewed as less than pleasant.

Routines relied upon each day
may keep emotions level,
but limitedness, on joy, will prey;
your peace, it can bedevil.

You have to strike a balance

between your work and play,
regardless of the push and pull
that life provides each day.
No matter if your inner bull
desires to charge ahead,
at times, it’s best to merrymake;
ignore the flag that’s red!

When lacking joy, your Soul will cast

a green-light on diversion
so you can release the stress amassed
by taking an excursion.

In spite of duties that contrast
with joyful inner yearnings,
desires of the Soul are unsurpassed
for yielding mundane earnings.

Let wisdom strike a balance

between the slow and fast;
with Spirit helming fortune’s wheel,
serenity can last.
To ground ideals and make them real,
you first must contemplate
your dearest dreams; once you’re awake,
in form, they’ll replicate.

It’s best to strike a balance

between your every part —
between your ego and your soul,
your thinking mind and heart.
When balance reigns within the whole,
then life seems less complex:
Your inner wishes, hopes, and dreams,
the outer world reflects.
