Purging Via Poison

When poison is the cure for hurt

that’s hiding deep within,
behavior that we judge as sin
draws back a veil that’s wearing thin.
Behind it lies “what could have been,”
“what if,” “why did they go?”
Accepting that ‘what is’ is so
prepares the way for brighter days
by purging via poison
the pain of long ago.

The hidden realm of human form
where grief profound remains,
through ignorance and fear constrains
our letting go of psychic chains.
But when we do, what then remains
is clarity and peace.
Once present, expectations cease;
what’s here today, the past, outweighs.
Each purging via poison
provides such sweet release!

I realize,  from other bards,
in this, I’m set apart:
I do believe a poison dart
can play a prime and poignant part
in making whole a broken heart.
Although a paradox,
what’s used to open also blocks.
A path waylaid makes clear a maze,
and purging via poison,
a sacred truth, unlocks.
