The Place That’s Best for Me

Round and round I go,

from days of sun to nights of snow,
from West coast music, fun, and dance
to Eastern vistas that entrance.

Moving to and fro,
the differences, I’ve come to know —
one place no better than the rest,
no matter south, north, east, or west.

Northern weather cools;

its briskness comes with several rules,
affecting how you eat and dress
and certain tools you must possess.

Mother Nature there
supports the apple and the pear.
The seasons turn quite vividly
and in a way for all to see!

Westward regions warm,

and though there’s an infrequent storm
in climates temperate or hot,
you give your clothing much less thought.

Here, the southwest winds
are harshest ere the spring begins.
When desert air is dry as bone,
you hear the buildings screech and groan.

Back and forth again,

and whether it is now or then,
expanding to the nth degree,
I’m shown the place that’s best for me.

All of them are home!
Regardless of the streets I roam
and sacred contracts I must keep,
my Soul directs; rewards, I reap.
